Some sanity, finally! Sarah had her surgery Monday morning and she did great! Within 25 minutes after walking her into the operating room, she was in recovery. I was glad that they called me immediately to her bedside, and spent an hour and half with her until they wheeled her to her room. My poor little princess has barely drank since the surgery and hasn't eaten more than two ounces of pudding. She's refusing even ice cream (her favorite thing in the world). They finally allowed her to leave the hospital Tuesday evening. Her mood was much better after she came home, but she's still not eating or drinking well.
Sarah knows a few words in sign language and one of those words is "all done". We worked on that for months so that she wouldn't throw her toys on the floor or knock off the plate of food when she was finished with them. In the hospital, Sarah's medication was all by mouth (not through the IV) and she kept signing "all done" as they were giving her the medicine because her throat hurt so much from it. I hope starts eating better tomorrow as I'm getting worried about her lack of food and all that medicine into an empty stomach.
