It's now early Sunday morning and things have taken a turn for the worse with Sarah. Yesterday, at 11am, we took her to the Emergency Room because she was severely dehydrated. Since coming home from the hospital on Tuesday, she's refused to drink and eat for long stretches at a time. Everytime we offer her food or water, she signs that she's "hurt". The pain medication wasn't lasting the duration of the dose and Sarah would be up every two hours crying in pain throughout the night. I had called the physician during the week, who just kept advising me to push fluids (easier said than done), but finally, yesterday evening they asked us to bring Sarah in.

She was re-hydrated with an IV and given a dose of morphine to help with the pain she was having there. We were advised to force-fed her liquids with a syringe if she refused to drink on her own. Her pain medication dosage was increased. We finally made it home at 2:30am. I hope that this is the last of it, and that Sarah will go back to being her normal, bubbly self very soon.
