All has been quiet with Sarah lately. We have set up her six month follow-up with the hospital in Mexico for Labor Day Weekend. I'm very excited to see the comparisons that the doctors see (from a medical standpoint).

Sarah is also going to have a big surprise coming soon. She will be a big sister in January. We are excited and immediately decided to bank this child's cord blood and tissue at birth. While medicine is not using donor stem cells quite yet, I have a feeling that in a few years it might just be a possibility.

  1. Congratulations! That is definitely exciting news! We banked my third child's cord blood and I sure wish medicine hear in the U.S. would hurry up to use donor stem cells for CP! They use it for other diseases, so why not CP?

Speaking from my experience, having another child really brought some balance and "normalcy" to our lives. I am so glad we decided to do it. There's four years between Maddy and her brother. Then, we decided to have one more and Delaney is three-and-a-half years behind Jack. It was her cord blood that we saved. I wanted Maddy to have siblings to help care for her in the event something happened to my husband and me. They are very good with her and have brought her much joy.

    Congratulations again!

Thank you so much, Paula. I'm also thinking that in a few years donor stem cells can be used for CP. I'm glad that you shared your experience about another child. Honestly, my husband and I were worried about having another child and how it might affect Sarah. I hope that Maddy is doing great this summer!
